I'm very sorry for your loss. Joe and I where good friends back in high school, when I was drafted and was sent to Vietnam we lost touch with each other but Joe always had a special place in my heart! I know that it's hard to lose someone that is close to you but I truly hope you can find peace in your heart.Richard Edney

I had the honor of growing up with Joe in the lovely community of Grovemont. We also attended school through high school together. While I haven't seen him in many years I share a load of great memories with him. I'll share one with you and leave you guys to your thoughts. The day that John F. Kennedy was killed in Dallas our Swannanoa Elementary school closed early and we were sent home. Joe and I were 10 years old and riding the same bus. He sat right behind me and I'll never forget him saying, and I quote...."Kennedy kicked the bucket, broke his toe and died." He was a great kid and I know an equally great man. My condolences to you all.

I spoke with Joe at length the week previous to his passing. I want his family to know that his faith in GOD was without question. I was humbled after listening to his walk of faith over the years. He spoke of working and living with his only desire was to be of service to GOD and his loved ones. He truly was at peace with his faith and I want his family to know that there is no question at all that this man now walks with GOD. It was an honor to spend a few hours with him and to talk about our common beliefs.
