Joyce Jarvis Obituary
Asheville - Joyce Ann Jarvis, 65, of Asheville, died on Wednesday, May 31, 2017.
Joyce was born on July 3, 1951, in Asheville, the daughter of Bernice Walker Rice and the late Wesley H. Rice.
Joyce was a beautiful and wonderful lady who, being an ordained minister, lived to love. Her heart was so giving and generous and she touched people everywhere she went. She had an ability to see into people's hearts and lives and meet them where they were, impacting them greatly. What a gift and example she was to all!
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her infant son, Brian Anthony and brother, Michael Dean Rice.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her wonderful family: her loving husband, Mark A. Jarvis; son, Caleb Shane Jarvis; daughter, Megan Cummings Tallent (Paul); grandsons, Ezra and Solomon; brother, Leslie Bowens; sister, Vickie Rice Holcombe (John "Togie"); and nephews, Shane Lanter (Jodi) and Shannon Rice.
A memorial service will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 4, 2017, at Mount Carmel Baptist Church with Rev. Jay Davis and Gary Davis officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the Mount Carmel Baptist Church Building Fund, 200 Mount Carmel Road, Asheville, NC 28806.
