William Porcher Miles Elmore

Asheville - William Porcher Miles Elmore, 44, beloved son of Miles and Millie Elmore, died peacefully September 28, 2018 at his home in Canton, North Carolina.

Will was born October 15, 1973 in Durham, North Carolina and grew up in Asheville where he attended St Genevieve/Gibbons Hall. He was a graduate of Carolina Day School and St. Joseph College in Rutland, VT. For the last twenty years he lived in Rutland and Asheville where he worked and volunteered as a mental health counselor to both youth and adults.

He will always be remembered for his servant heart, calm and peaceful demeanor, great generosity and courage for life. He had a keen intellect full of curiosity, a dry sense of humor, a great chuckling laugh, a love of sports, music, books of all manner and driving the great open road. His love and knowledge of film was legend.

Will had a deep love for his family and friends and in return they gave him unwavering companionship and support that nourished him throughout his lifetime.

Will is survived by his beloved sister Mimi and brother-in-law William Peabody of Palmer, AK. Also surviving are his aunts and uncles, Carol Bitter of Atlanta, GA, Karl and Mary Gladys Bitter and Clara Bitter of Asheville, Harriette and Kinney Gause of Beaufort, SC, Nancy Elmore of Charleston, SC and his many devoted cousins.

A private family interment will be held Friday, December 21 in the garth of The Cathedral of All Souls.
