David Banik Obituary
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Paul and Stella Kaminski Banik.
David was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church Swoyersville. He was a teacher at the Wilkes-Barre Area School District. David was a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Asumpta Council 3987 Luzerne. Davis was a competition weightlifter. He was also a avid Phillies and Giants fan.
Surviving are his wife, the former Louise Klukoske; a brother, Paul and his wife, Alexis Banik, Sea Girt, N.J.; sister, Andrea and her husband, Ron Davis, Wilkes-Barre; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday from Lehman-Gregory Funeral Home Inc., 281 Chapel St., Swoyersville, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, Swoyersville. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery Swoyersville. Family and friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Banik was a great person and teacher. I learned a lot from him and I'm grateful to have known him and to have to learned a great deal from him. The world lost a great person may he Rest In Peace. Thoughts and prayers go to his family.

Mr Banik was such a great teacher, he made it fun to be at school. It was always nice to see his smiling face in the first floor hallway on my way to homeroom every morning. He was one of my most memorable teachers, I can almost hear his voice, the way he would always answer any silly questions from his students with a "maybe" or "sometimes". May he rest in peace.

I had Mr. Banik when I was at Meyers. He always made me laugh and made each and every class enjoyable. I'm sure everyone of his students would agree. He was a great guy. Heaven certainly gained another angel. Rest in peace and god bless. My prayers go out to his family.

One of my favorite teachers at Meyers Highschool. Mr. Banik had the patience of saint when dealing with us highschool kids.. He was always there to answer any questions you may of had. So sad to hear the news. Rest easy Mr. Banik!
