Glenn A. Packer, 77, of Edwardsville, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2021, in Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
He was born in Baltimore, the son of the late Glenn Leroy and Carolyn Margaret Dickson Packer.
Glenn was a graduate of York Central High School and Lackawanna Junior College and attended the University of Scranton.
Glenn served in the United States Army in the Vietnam War.
Prior to retiring, Glenn was employed as a corrections officer at SCI Dallas and later a safety officer at Misercordia University.
He was preceded in death by a son, Glenn M. Packer, and a grandson, Christopher John Packer.
Surviving are his wife, Lois Assid Packer; son, Kevin M. Packer, Moulton Ala.; and grandchildren, Kevin M. Packer Jr., Esq. and David Packer.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday from Edwards and Russin Funeral Home, 717 Main St., Edwardsville, with the Rev. Robert Mazieka officiating.
Interment will be in Springbrook Cemetery, Springbrook Twp.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Glenn's memory to The Christopher J. Packer Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Peoples Security Bank & Trust Company, 83 E. Tioga Street, Tunkhannock, PA 18657, or The Wilkes-Barre VA Medical Center CLC (Fund 8110) 1111 East End Blvd. Wilkes-Barre, PA 18711.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Charles L. Cease Funeral Home, 634 Reyburn Road, Shickshinny.
