James W. Milliner Jr. 79, of Larksville, passed away suddenly Friday, April 12, 2024, in Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center, Plains Twp.
Born in Carbondale, he was the son of the late James Sr. and Beatrice Wagner Milliner and served his country proudly in the U.S. Air Force as a fireman. He grew up in New York City, and lived in Hunlock Creek and Larksville.
He was a delivery driver for many businesses, including Buzzy's Bazaar, and loved to drive. He would take people to the airports, doctor appointments and anywhere they wanted to go. He was a jack of all trades and in his younger years enjoyed hunting and scuba diving. Jim loved animals and enjoyed going to dog shows with the love of his life, Carol, who died this past February. He truly was heartbroken from Carol's death. He and Carol loved the Bloomsburg Fair and would camp there the entire week of the fair, enjoying the sights, animals and food every day.
James was a member of the Larksville Volunteer Fire Department, most recently as fire police; and a member of the NRA and other animal and civic organizations. He loved to go bargain shopping, whether online, flea markets, estate sales or yard sales.
Left to cherish his memory is children, Karen Gaffney, Wendy Aumick, James Milliner III and Robert Milliner; grandchildren; and numerous cousins.
Funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday from Andrew Strish Funeral Home, 11 Wilson St., Larksville, with the Rev. Dan Gross officiating. Interment will follow in Warden Cemetery, Dallas.
Friends are invited to join the family from 9:30 a.m. to service time.
