Michael John Duda Sr., 64, of the Hanover section of Nanticoke, passed away peacefully at home Saturday, Oct. 10, 2020.
Born Sept. 3, 1956, in Nanticoke, Michael was the son of the late John and Josephine Lacomy Duda. Michael was a graduate of Greater Nanticoke Area High School, Class of 1976.
He worked for Mideast Aluminum in their tool and die manufacturing. Michael was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He belonged to the Hanover Rec Club and the Wilkes-Barre Rifle & Pistol Club.
He was a great storyteller and had a story for any situation. He knew someone everywhere he went. He had a big heart and would help anyone. He lived his life to the fullest. Above all he loved his family. His grandchildren brought a smile to his face every time they were around. He will forever be watching over them. He will be missed greatly by all of us, but especially by his wife. They were best friends, partners in crime, and they had been through thick and thin in all the years they spent together. There is no doubt she would do it all again and change nothing.
Michael was preceded in death by his siblings, Stanley, MaryAnn and John.
Michael is survived by his wife of 44 years, Jo Ann Wincek Duda; daughter, Michelle Duda Marcario and husband, Antonio; and son, Michael Duda Jr. and wife, Jennifer; grandchildren, Brandon, Alexis and Logan; brother, Frank; and sister, Christine; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A private funeral service was held at the convenience of the family.
