Richard Pollard Obituary

Richard Pollard Jr. died Sunday, Dec. 18, 2022, in Bel Air, Md., at Commonwealth Senior Living with his sister, Karen Kellam, by his side.

Rich was born Oct. 19, 1950, in Plymouth. In his younger days, he played guitar with a friend and in a local band.

Richard graduated from Wyoming Valley West in 1969 and attended Luzerne County Community College. He moved in 1983 to join the U.S. Army as military police. During his military career, he was stationed in Nicaragua and El Salvador.

After leaving the U.S. Army, he worked for 43 years at Surry Nuclear Plant, Virginia, as a security guard. Richard was also proud to be a lifetime member of the NRA.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Dick and Dolores Pollard; grandparents; uncle, Junie Krynicki; aunt, Sister Mary Bride; and other uncles and aunts.

He is survived by his sister, Karen Kellam and husband; daughter, Jackie Pollard; aunt, Sister Pat McCann, RSM; and family.

There will be a private celebration of life.

Worked with Rich for around 26 years at Surry Power Station, we carpooled for 12 of those years. He was a good friend and will be surely missed by all who knew him. R.I.P. Rich, God Bless and Keep You.
