Scott James Hady, 51, of Bluffton, S.C., died tragically in a motorcycle accident on May 30, 2022. He left behind family and friends who are devastated by his unexpected passing.
Scott was an experienced motorcyclist who spent years riding through mountains and to beaches. Memorable trips included riding to New Orleans, La., Key West. Fla., and frequently traveling State Road A1A; always stopping to eat fresh seafood along the way.
Born in Mountain Top, Scott was the son of the late Francis "Fritz" Hady and Lynn Moore Hady. Scott also resided in Scranton. He was a graduate of Crestwood High School. Scott completed the apprenticeship and training program through the carpenters and joiners local union and earned the status of a journeyman carpenter.
Scott was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America Carpenters Local Union 645 where he worked as a journeyman carpenter while residing in Pennsylvania. Scott was a project manager for Lyle Construction, Bluffton S.C.
Surviving are his lifelong friend and wife, Melissa Guida Hady and cherished furbabies, Duke, Clare and Oliver; siblings, Renee Clark and husband, Barry; Joseph Hady; Eric Hady and wife, Diane; Lynn's companion, Donald (Peanut) Rittenhouse; a stepbrother, Jay Aigeldinger; nieces and nephews; and brothers-in-law, Brian Guida and wife, Anna; and Christopher Guida and wife, Melanie.
Scott had a heart of gold and was a fiercely loyal family member and friend. He held a special place in the hearts of his family as the youngest and was loved by the entire Guida Family who appreciated his sense of adventure and humor. Scott was the most genuine person one could meet. He was extremely empathetic and compassionate. Scott performed countless acts of kindness, whether it was assisting a neighbor or breathing life into an unresponsive bird. Scott never met a stranger. He was a friend to all. To know Scott was to love him. Scott was also widely known for his wit.
Not only was Scott a master carpenter, he was highly skilled in a breadth of areas to include mechanics and autobody repair. He was an analytical genius. Scott could restore or build anything. He was a perfectionist with a keen eye for detail, especially when it came to his craft.
Scott loved boating, fishing, crabbing, clamming, camping, traveling, skiing and snowmobiling. He spent countless hours tinkering in the garage. He collected motorcycles and, in his teens and twenties, was a Volkswagen enthusiast. Scott was always looking for the next project whether it was a motorcycle, boat or car. When on the road, Scott always seemed to find this project.
Scott was an optimistic free spirit. His visions allowed him to turn his dreams into reality in ways others could not foresee. A testament to his skill and resourcefulness, Scott's Daufuskie Island Compound would have been a dream for most. Scott singlehandedly constructed his dream by transporting materials via personal boat or barge. It was a true labor of love. He spent weekends strategizing, building and constructing the compound piece by piece sometimes with the assistance of a buddy, whether they were willing or not. There was no sitting around when you were in Scott's presence. Scott's journey on Daufuskie Island could have been a trending reality television show.
Although we are heartbroken in our grief, Scott left us with a lifetime of stories, connections and friendships. We are better people for knowing Scott; whether he taught us how to fully embrace life, pay it forward or properly build something. He taught us to be risk takers and provided us with experiences we would have never imagined. Scott's spirt and our memories will live on forever in our hearts and will remain with us as we continue this journey called life.
The memorial service will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at McCune Funeral Service, 80 S. Mountain Blvd., Mountain Top.

My sympathies to Joey, Eric, Renee. I knew Scott the least of all the Hadys, he was the youngest, having just read his life story, the apple didn't fall far from the tree- having known his Dad, Fritz. Such a terrible loss of this young man. I'm very sorry this happened, RIP Scott.
