Stephen Janis Obituary
Born in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of Stanley Jr. and Dolores Zdanowicz Janis of Mountain Top.
Stephen was a graduate of Bishop Hoban High School, Class of 1982, and was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Church, Plains Township.
He worked at the Mohegan Sun Arena at Casey Plaza as a supervisor, and at Pocono Raceway, Long Pond, for the June and July races.
Stephen was preceded in death by his grandparents, Bruno and Sophia Zdanowicz and Stanley Sr. and Anna Janis, and his aunt and uncle, Patricia and Harold Bachman.
Surviving are his parents, Stanley Jr. and Dolores Janis; sister, Diane Ebert and her husband, Bruce, Plains Township; and aunt, Sister Immacule, O.S.F., Reading.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday in Ss. Peter and Paul Church, 13 Hudson Road, Plains Township, with the Rev. John C. Lambert, pastor, officiating. There will be no calling hours. Interment will be held in the parish cemetery.
Arrangements are by Corcoran Funeral Home Inc., 20 S. Main St., Plains Township.
Memorial donations may be made to the SPCA of Luzerne County, 524 E. Main St., Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702.

So sorry Diane and Family,we had so much FUN in StPeters Pauls Plains hanging out on Sprague Ave Kingston sleep overs,McDonalds where Stephen would always put his fries on his burger,circus...I tried to send a message on your facebook but it wont go through,my oldest brother Joe passed away about 7 yrs i know the feeling LOVE xoxoxo always

I worked with Steve at the track back in the 80's. He was so much fun to be around, so full of life. He will be truly missed.
