William Snipas Obituary

William J. Snipas, 84, of Wilkes-Barre Twp., passed away Sunday, Feb. 12, 2023, in Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre.

He was born in Wilkes-Barre Twp., Dec. 25, 1938, the son of the late William and Lottie Kobeski Snipas.

William attended the Wilkes-Barre Twp. schools and was employed by various garment companies in the Wyoming Valley area.

He was a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Parish, Wilkes-Barre.

William was a devoted husband, a loving father and grandfather. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also had a special fondness for hiking.

Preceding him in death were a brother, Leonard Witkowski; and sister, Sr. M. Loretelle, OSF.

Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Florence Suprum Snipas; sons, William Snipas and his wife, Elizabeth; Joseph Snipas and his wife, Theresa Yaron; five grandchildren, Kaitlin and Tyler Snipas; Breanne Yaron; Joseph and Kylie Snipas.

Family and friends are invited to attend a prayer service at 11 a.m. Thursday at the chapel of St. Mary's Maternity Cemetery, 141 Miscavage St., West Wyoming, with interment to follow.

Funeral arrangements are from George A. Strish Inc. Funeral Home, 105 N. Main St., Ashley.
