Topeka - Alan Dean Burkdoll, 60, of Topeka, Kansas and formerly of Melvern, Kansas departed this life Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at the St. Francis Hospital in Topeka, Kansas. He was born July 1, 1961 in Topeka, Kansas the son of Dean Lee and Patricia Ann (Rose) Burkdoll. He grew up in the Melvern and Lyndon area and graduated from Marais des Cygnes Valley High School in 1979. Alan has lived in Topeka, Kansas since 1996.
On September 14, 1990 Alan was united in marriage to Dana L. Markley in Osage City, Kansas. They later divorced. To this union they shared two daughters, Andrea Lea and Brooke Ann.
Alan spent most of his life as an independent over-the-road truck driver and was currently driving for MNT Transportation in Topeka, Kansas. Alan worked hard and took much pride in driving millions of miles across the lower forty-eight states. When Alan wasn't on the road, he enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family, friends and his daughters, especially his granddaughter, Paisley.
Alan is preceded in death by his parents, Dean Lee and Pat and brother, Terry Burkdoll on December 17, 2004.
Alan is survived by his two daughters, Andrea Lea Anderson of Topeka, Kansas and Brooke Ann Burkdoll of Wichita, Kansas; two brothers, Steve Burkdoll (Beverly) of Melvern, Kansas and Dave Burkdoll (Peggy) of Melvern, Kansas; sister, LeeAnn Samsel (Robert) of Lyndon, Kansas; granddaughter, Paisley Rae Anderson; many nieces and nephews.
Graveside service will be held 3:30 P.M., Sunday, July 25, 2021 at the Lyndon Cemetery in Lyndon, Kansas. The family will greet friends from 2-3:30 P.M. Sunday, July 25, 2021 at the Feltner Funeral Home in Lyndon, Kansas and will proceed to the cemetery following. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alan D.
