DAVID G. BURKDOLL

Lyndon - David Gene Burkdoll, 67, passed away on Friday, April 11, 2025, at Midland Hospice House in Topeka, Kansas. He was born on March 25, 1958, in Emporia, Kansas, the son of Dean Lee and Patricia (Rose) Burkdoll. Dave grew up and lived the majority of his life in the Melvern and Lyndon communities. He graduated from Melvern High School in 1976. Dave worked as a Heavy Equipment Operator for Rylie Equipment and Contracting Company for over 40 years. He was also a farmer, cattle rancher, and spent many hours in the family fur shed. On September 1, 1978, Dave was united in marriage to Peggy Mahar in Waverly. To this union, three sons were born, Jeff, Aaron and Dan. Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Dean Lee and Pat; and by two of his brothers, Terry Burkdoll and Alan Burkdoll. Dave is survived by his wife Peggy of 46 years; his three sons, Jeff (Stacy) Burkdoll of Lyndon, Aaron (Jennifer) Burkdoll of Port Orchard, Washington and Dan (Erin) Burkdoll of Lyndon; his brother, Steve (Bev) Burkdoll of Melvern; his sister, LeeAnn (Robert) Samsel of Lyndon; and by his seven granddaughters, Felicity Burkdoll, Haley Burkdoll, Sydney Burkdoll, Sophie Burkdoll, Brynn Burkdoll, Blair Burkdoll, Lane Burkdoll; one grandson, Dean Burkdoll, and one step grandson, Sean Reilly. Funeral services for Dave will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 22 at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon. Burial will be in the Lyndon Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00pm on Monday, April 21 at the funeral chapel.
