Art was a good friend and a pledge brother at the Sigma Chi House, and he was really well-liked by all. Though it has been 25 years, I have had the opportunity to exchange a bunch of messages with fraternity brothers who are trying to re-connect and everyone is really saddened by the loss. Art was a great man, a great Sig and a great friend.

Dear Bill, Mary Ann, Nancy, Annette and Linda, We are so sorry to hear about Art. What a shock when I read Carrie Owens Winters note on Facebook that she was attending Art's funeral. We have happy memories of our years together in Topeka in the 70's and 80's. Our heartfelt condolences go out to all of you from Ron, Beth, David and Dana - Myrtle Beach, SC and Richmond, VA. Art was a good friend both professionally as well as personally. I always saw him with a smile. Never doubted his ability to find good in all things. I ran into him several years ago in a mass of people at KU's Memorial Stadium just before a football game. Even though we were both with friends trying to get to seats we both shared a few thoughts on football and life and then wished each other well. I am glad his pain is gone, but I wish he was still with me, walking through the mass of people, looking out over the field, on a perfectly sunny Saturday afternoon.
