The friendship that I shared with Barbara lasted 65 wonderful years. The times we shared together brought us much joy and laughs, and I will think of her often. No words can really express my appreciation of her. Harvey and I truly loved her.

Mrs. Schulman was one of my teachers in 1978 when I attended Maude Bishop in Topeka. I remember her because of her larger than life personality. She impacted my life in a positive way and I am so grateful to have had her as a teacher. Prayers for your family.

I met Barbara while I was doing a long-term substitute teaching stint in the Del Mar Union School District. She was the easily the kindest sub there; everyone loved her. My daughter had Mrs. Schulman as a sub in elementary school and enjoyed hearing her stories about traveling with groups of students. She called Mrs. Schulman the "good sub" and would tell me all about her day. The students knew how much she cared about them. Barbara had the ideal demeanor for teaching. You were lucky to have her as a family member. Prayers to your entire family. I know you will miss her.

Mrs. Schulman was one of my 4th grade teachers at Bishop Elementary in Topeka. Friends and I have recently reminisced and of no surprise to anyone, she was everyone's favorite! Barbara Sieffert and I "ran away" to Mrs. Schulman's house circa the late 1970s. We planned it, didn't tell our parents, and stayed for part of an afternoon. She didn't call our parents but I do recall she gave us soda and just sat and listened to us. We eventually went home. I'll never forget that.
Also ... six times eight is forty-eight (must be sung)!

Mrs. Schulman was my teacher in 1975, 5th grade. I was a shy girl, and I was drawn to her motherly presence and kindness. She would put her arm around me and tell me "you can do this". A big smile on her face. For Christmas, I gave her a bottle of Avon perfume "Roses, Roses". A week afterward, she sent me a cute Thank You card with Snoopy on the front, saying she loved it and her maiden name was "Roseman", so it was the "perfect gift". I still have that card with her perfect handwriting in a keepsakes box I have. I saw her years' later at a grocery store, probably around 20 years' ago, and she remembered me after I gave her my name. I told her I wasn't shy any longer, and she had a tremendous influence on me during an extremely difficult period of time. She had a few tears but a big smile, and she hugged me tight. To her family, you already knew how awesome she is...she was really awesome to me as a frightened, shy new kid..."I can do it". Love her, always will.

My son, Danny had her as a teacher at Bishop. She was a great teacher!! I did a lot of volunteer work at Bisop so got to know her through that. I always enjoyed talking to her. She was a wonderful woman. She was always the best dressed teacher!! My thoughts and prayers are with her family!!!

Two memories we recall offhand
Barbara loved her yoga. She mentioned we should not be concerned if we saw her doing one yoga “position” (or whatever it is called) when she would be upside down. I always wondered how long she could hold that stationary inverse position. She was a can do lady for sure.
Another memory is when she gave us Todd’s gently used erector crane set to our son Brad about the time he entered preschool in 1985. Of course, dad (me) had to test it first before Brad got it!
Our thoughts and prayers from Kansas to all her family.

A very gracious lady. I wish I'd been a student! Her class trips sounded wonderful.
