Clarice Arnold Obituary

WAKARUSA - Clarice Bessie Arnold, 98, Wakarusa, passed away Sunday at Topeka. She was born Sept. 24, 1906, in Cloud County, Kan. She was a homemaker, and spent all of her adult life in the Wakarusa area. She loved the LORD and was very active in Church work as a teacher and a mentor and attended many different Churches throughout her life. She was a Life Member of the Pleasant Valley Club. She married Ralph L. Arnold, on Nov. 23, 1927. He preceded her in death March 1, 1987. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Roger Arnold, three brothers and three sisters. Survivors include three sons, Jim Arnold, Auburn, Dallas Arnold, Topeka and Lloyd Arnold, Wakarusa; a daughter, Lee Nelson, Wakarusa; two sisters, Alta Birtell, Wakarusa and Alma Decker, Clay Center; a brother, Delbert Buchanan, Copan, Oklahoma; 15 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren and six great great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday at the Burlingame Federated Church. Burial will be in Simerwell Cemetery, east of Auburn. She will lie in state from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, at Carey Funeral Home, Burlingame, where the family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Home Health Care and Hospice, 1033 SW Gage Blvd., Topeka, KS 66604; the American Cancer Society, 1315 SW Arrowhead Rd., Topeka, KS 66604; or the Alzheimers Association, 515 S. Kansas Ave., Topeka, KS 66603.
