Cynthia Newstrom Obituary
Cyndi grew up in the Westboro area of Topeka and graduated from Topeka West High School in 1976. She spent several years living in Southern California before moving to Overland Park, KS in the early 1990s.
On August 1, 2002 Cyndi married her partner of over 20 years, Kent Davis. Cyndi and Kent loved spending time outdoors, especially at Lake Perry, where they owned a boat for many years. Cyndi's true passion in life was animals and she cared for them deeply. Over the years, she rescued countless animals including rabbits, cats, and dogs.
Survivors include her husband, Kent Davis of the home and their beloved Golden Retriever, Champagne and their cats Bitty and Buddy. She is also survived by her father, Newt Newstrom, Mother-in Law, Corolene Davis, brothers Cole (Vickie) Newstrom, Doug (Ronda) Newstrom; and sister Dawn (Andy) Graham. Other survivors include seven nieces and nephews and one great nephew.
Cyndi is preceded in death by her mother, Shirley Newstrom, numerous aunts and uncles, and many cherished animal companions.
A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Monday, December 18, 2017 at the McGilley State Line Chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to KC Pet Project, Wayside Waifs, or any favorite animal charity.

I just learned of your loss of your dear sweet Cyndi! We loved seeing Cyndi come in with the pups and her boundless energy for life! Her compassion for animals was tireless and you could always tell! We will miss her dearly! We are here for Chammy as well. God holds Cyndi in His loving arms this Christmas with all the animals at His feet! The service was very appropriate....we laughed and we cried. Kent, we are so very sorry for the loss of your Cyndi. So many good times were had in days past at Lake Perry and Cyndi was in the middle of it all. May she find the peace that she sought and be reunited with her loved ones and also her many pets at the Rainbow Bridge. (I hope she will pat Kasey on the head for us.) Many thoughts and prayer go out to Kent and the family. Cyndi's spirit was a force and so much laughter, kindness that was infectious to those around her. I truly appreciated her friendship through our years at Geo and had so many wonderful good times. Rest in peace my friend.
