Frank Nettleton Obituary

Frank L. Nettleton Lyndon-Frank L. Nettleton, 81, passed away Thursday, May 28, 2015 at his home east of Lyndon. Frank was born September 5, 1933, the son of Eugene J. and Mildred A. Duff Nettleton in Lyndon. Frank graduated from Lyndon High School in 1951. On September 5, 1951 Frank was united in marriage to Jennie Lee Goldsmith in Lyndon. Frank worked for the Santa Fe Railroad as a clerk. In 1957 he was called up from the Army Reserve to active duty to serve in Korea, where he received the Good Conduct Medal, The Korea Defense Medal, and the Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation. He was Honorably Discharged in 1959. He returned to work for the Santa Fe Railroad as a computer programmer analyst retiring in 1991 after 36 years. He was a member of the Masonic Euclid Lodge 101 A.F. & A.M. of Lyndon, the Scottish Rite and the Arab Shriners. Frank enjoyed his mules and wagons, he rode in all the local parades, as well as trips around the state. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Jennie Lee on October 6, 2009; a grandson Tristen Nettleton on October 22, 1997; two sisters Dona Jones and Joanne Tipton. Frank is survived by two sons, Tim Nettleton and Todd (Kim) Nettleton; one daughter, Tamara (Jerry) VandeVelde; two sisters, Lorraine (Al) Stevens and Verna Greer; 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. A memorial service for Frank will held Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at the Feltner Funeral Chapel in Lyndon at 7:00p.m., visitation will be one hour prior to services. Inurnment will be in the Lyndon Cemetery. Memorial contributions made be made to the Euclid Lodge 101 and sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Ave., Lyndon, Ks. 66451.
