He was born September 6, 1956 in Cedar Falls, Iowa the son of James Sr. and Faye Meinders Backman.
He is survived by his sisters, Beverly Shaw, Janice Bixby, JoAnn Zeason, Sharon Richards and Karen Taylor; brothers James Backerman Jr. and Robert Backerman.
Inurnment will take place at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, May 2nd at Eskridge Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed at vanarsdalefs.com.
