Joseph Thomas "Tom" Williams

Tom Williams Joseph Thomas Tom Williams, 69, Topeka, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 19, 2015, at his home. Tom was born in Topeka KS on June 27, 1945. He grew up in Topeka, attended Topeka West High School and graduated from Wentworth Military Academy in Missouri. Tom was an insurance salesman for Met Life for seven years while serving in the Army National Guard on weekends and in the summer. Tom went full-time with the National Guard and was active for twenty-two years as a recruiting and retention NCO. After leaving the Army, he was self-employed as an Amway Agent and opened Williams Automotive in 1995. Tom was very family oriented and loved his children greatly. Tom s hobbies included the Sports Car Club of America, auto racing, boating and camping. Tom is survived by his children; Julie Kingsbury (Patrick), Baldwin City, Robert Williams, Topeka, Ron Williams (Tina), Topeka, Richard Williams (Donna), Geronimo OK, Trish Boatwright (Ryan), Topeka; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Tom was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Williams. Memorial Service for Tom will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Road, Topeka KS 66614, with visitation at 10:00 a.m. Inurnment with military honors will follow at Penwell-Gabel Cemetery.
