Rosella Hefty Obituary

Gladys Rosella Hefty, 90, of Topeka, passed away on Saturday, January 26, 2013 at a Topeka care facility. She was born November 13, 1922 in Effingham, KS, the daughter of Frank and H.J. Belle Uncapher Freeland. She graduated from Effingham High School. Rosella resided in Arrington, KS for eighteen years and had lived in Topeka since 1966. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. Rosella married Lawrence F. Hefty on April 3, 1944 in Bern, KS. He preceded her in death on February 16, 2006. Survivors include three daughters, Mary Groyon of Topeka, Ann Krone of Wichita, KS and Rita Penner of Yakima, WA, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday at Penwell-Gabel Mid Town Chapel where the family will receive friends one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow in West Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Forest Park Retreat Center, 3158 SE 10th St., Topeka, KS 66607. I remember Mrs. Hefty from growning up in Grace United Methodist Chruch. She was a very nice lady and will be missed by all that knew her. May GOD be with you during this time of sorrow.
