Steven Webb Obituary

EMPORIA- Steven R. Webb, 47, Emporia, Kansas died at his home in Emporia on Wednesday, May 16, 2007. He was born at Bristow, Oklahoma on November 11, 1959, the son of Charles E. and Helen E. (Kidd) Webb. He married Kathleen J. Herman at Emporia, Kansas on October 14, 1988. They later divorced, she survives. Surviving family members include his son, Jon A. Webb of the home, and his mother, Helen Webb, Emporia. He was preceded in death by his father. Steve was an avid musician and enjoyed playing and recording his own music. He released a CD of his music in 1988. He owned and operated Bluestem Pest Control in Emporia, and was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Emporia. Cremation is planned. Memorial services will be held at the Saint Mark's Lutheran Church, Emporia Monday, May 21, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. Inurnment will be at a later time at Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Emporia. The family requests no flowers. Memorials to either a fund for his son's education, or to the Hand-In-Hand Hospice may be sent to the Roberts-Blue-Barnett Funeral Home, Emporia.

Helen and Jon,
Please accept my deepest sympathy on the loss of your son and father.It was a priviledge to have befriended and worked with him in the early 80's in Osawatomie,Kansas.He was a very talented musician and his love for playing the guitar inspired me to learn to play as well.
