Troy Ferguson Obituary

Troy Richard Ferguson, Topeka, Kansas, died on March 28, 2021. Troy was born in Topeka to the late Pamela Rose and Paul Richard Ferguson on February 8, 1975. He graduated from Topeka West High School in 1993. Troy is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Amy and Austin Wright; niece, Elaina; nephews, Evan and Eli; aunt, Corliss Wheatley; cousin, Bill Wheatley; and uncle, Dennis Guthrie.

Troy began installing hardwood floors in the mid 90's and eventually started his own hardwood flooring business a few years later. Troy also traveled the world as a professional wrestler, actor, author, and cohost of several popular podcasts and tv shows under the stage names "Blade Braxton" and "The Midnight Rose". Since 2002 he co-hosted the longest running professional wrestling podcast ever "Wrestlecrap Radio" and co-authored a bestselling book that stemmed from the radio show's shenanigans, gimmicks, and hilarious characters. Troy loved filming home movies with friends as a kid, which manifested into him producing, filming, and acting in numerous Troma Films, which created cult classics such as "The Toxic Avenger" and "The Class of Nuke'em High". One of his most exciting accomplishments was starring as a "Cretin" in "Return to Nuke'em High" in 2012. Troy filmed dozens of other indie films with numerous other production companies throughout his years. Beginning in 2013, as the "Midnight Rose", Troy could be seen every Friday night when he co-starred as a sidekick in a weekly series called "Drive-in Movie Maniacs".

Troy embodied all things pop-culture, from movies, music, video games, toys and all things nostalgic- he loved his family, friends and fans; he loved traveling, pro wrestling, going to concerts, the Detroit Lions and was truly a kid-at-heart in every sense of the phrase. He loved making people laugh and loved spreading joy to everyone on social media. Troy will be dearly missed by his family, friends, loved-ones, coworkers, cohosts, wrestlers, and the thousands of fans that he accumulated over two decades all over the world.

Celebration of Troy's life will be 3 p.m. Saturday, April 10, 2021, at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 SW Urish Road, Topeka KS 66614, with visitation one-hour prior. Masks and social distance are absolutely required.
