Charles Bobo Obituary

On Monday, March 22, 2010, the Lord called for His good and faithful servant, Charles Harold Bobo to come home to be with Him.
Charles was a devoted father and loving husband who loved God with all his heart. He is survived by his wonderful wife of 51 years, Jean ("Angel"); three children, Stacy Riley (David), Tim, and Charley (Karen); as well as his grandchildren, Jordan and Eric Riley; Courtney, Charles, and Sydney Bobo; and his brother, Jim Bobo (Dorothy) of Olive Branch.
Charles had a passion for serving the Lord and gave his time in many areas of service. He was a Co-Founder of the Mustard Seed as well as Son Valley, Christian communities for Down Syndrome adults. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Jackson for 25 years and served as a Life Deacon. Serving as Greeter was a highlight of his service.
He retired from a 25-year career as a corporate officer with Kemper Insurance Group in the late 80's and continued with Arthur J. Gallagher, LLC. Charles proudly served in the United States Navy.
Visitation will be held at Wright and Ferguson Funeral Home, on High Street, Thursday, March 25, 4:00-7:00 P.M. Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church of Jackson, State Street, with visitation from 9:00-10:30 A.M. and service at 10:30 A.M. Friday, March 26, 2010.
In lieu of flowers you may send donations to any one of Charles' charities: Willowood Developmental Center, Attn: Darlene Therrell, 1635 Boling St.,Jackson, MS 39203; SON Valley, P.O. Box 406, Canton, MS 39046; United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation, 8085 Saltsburg Rd., Ste. 201, Pittsburg, PA 15239.

Mrs. Bobo and Tim,
Bob, Crawford, and I were all saddened to hear of Mr. Bobo's passing away. His smile was infectious and he had a wonderful way of making us all feel welcome; we were honored to have known him. We will miss seeing him across the aisle from us in church. Please know that you are in our prayers.
