John, my prayers are with you and your family at this time of grief. Having lost my Mom earlier this year I know what you are going through. Take comfort and strength in knowing that your Dad is at peace with the Lord.

Dan,
I estimate that it was the Summer of 1985. It had to be one of the best years of my life. I love playing tennis, and you were a great tennis partner. We even won a couple of tournaments. Your dry sense of humor always kept me in line - especially when you would yell about another blankety-blank lob. You played with a warped racquet, and when you hit a good shot, I would yell "banana in!" A bad shot and it was "banana out!" I will surely miss you, Dan, even though I've seen you very little in the last 20 years. My sympathy goes out to Vicky and your entire family in your time of grief. I will always be thinking the best when I think of "Dan."

"Chief,"
You were not only my first career boss, but also a guiding mentor in the beginnings of my career. You taught me much, and I am grateful I had you as a leader. I believe even now, from your lofty perch, you will keep an eye on me, and set me straight. You will be missed always, and forgotten never. My sympathies go out to your wife, children and the rest of your incredible family in their time of great loss. Thank you for all your wisdom, Chief. I'll never forget you.

Dear Vicki & Family,
I am deeply saddened by your loss. Dan was a good boss and I enjoyed working for and knowing him. I am so sorry I can't be at the funeraL (my family is on vacation in Florida this week) but know you are in my thoughts & prayers. I recall your commenting in one of your emails to us about how quickly things in life can change, and I have experienced that as well. Thankfully the Lord gives us strength and helps us to accept and bear what we think we cannot. Love in Christ.....

My dearest Vicki,
I am saddened to hear that my beloved friend Dan has passed away. I know this has been a long hard fight for the both of you, your family and friends. Saying that he's in a better place doesn't help, I know. I can't help but think that there was some group of old women that needed an activities director in Heaven and God said, "Hey, I know just the right person!" Only Dan had to leave this Earth to accomplish that task. I know, it's silly. I loved Dan and you very much. I hated that we parted the way we did, and I have missed you both since! I will always have the very fondest memories of Dan. I still hear his sweet voice. Remember that Christ said, "Lo I am with you even until the ends of the Earth!" You will never be alone!
I know that when I see a biker, I will think of Dan. A kayak, a sunny day and anytime I'm fortunate enough to run into a Sunday School friend, I will think of you both.
Please know that I, along with so many others want to be there for you when you are ready for us to be.
We love you so much Vicki!
You are in my prayers for God's peace and understanding.
Love,
Laurel

I will miss Dan. I hold fond memories of him as a Sunday School teacher and as a trust officer, one of the best of both.
