Mrs. McDonald was witty, smart and an excellent teacher. She was the advisor/editor of the school newspaper and yearbook at Provine and I had the privilege of being guided by her as a member of the newspaper staff. We need more teachers like her. My condolences to her loved ones.

Eva McDonald was "Mamma Mac" to me and other students when I had her as my English teacher at Provine in the early 1970s. She tolerated my youthful attitude, encouraged me to expand my horizon and be original and gave me a sanctuary from teachers tied to convention. She is one of the reasons I became a photojournalist and a teacher. I will include her and her family in my prayers. "May God be with you till we meet again," Mamma Mac.

Mrs. Mac was beyond what you expect as a teacher. She reached out to your spirit and inspired you to be better than you thought you could be. She was our sponser, our teacher, our leader in many things. She was the sponser for both class capers and for the Rambler. I was her favorite, but then again so we're all my classmates who were touched by her influence. She was a writing hero to me and a pillar of strength in many of my struggles and high school angst. She made me strive for more. Thank you Mrs. MacDonald for all the things you did for all of us.

This lady was much more than a teacher to me, she was the reason I finished high school. She got me involved in The Rambler and pushed me to excel. She always called me "Jack Armstrong, the All American Boy" , jokingly of course. Loved her dearly...RIP sweet lady.

Mrs. McDonald was my 11th-grade English teacher at Provine.
I respected her so much and enjoyed her wit! She was at her best when she was teaching Thoreau. I still recall the sheet she handed out about his favorite sayings. She inspired me to become an English teacher and professional writer. Blessings.

Ms Mac was my speech teacher my senior year, and I can't come up with enough superlatives to describe what she did for me that year. I joined the Marines shortly before graduation, and the note she wrote me in my annual still makes me cry. She was a dear, sweet lady, and I'll never forget her. My biggest regret is that I never got the chance to tell her what she meant to me.
Rest in peace, Ms Mac. You were deeply loved, and you'll be sorely missed.

Miz Mac was my English and speech teacher, my debate and drama coach, my mentor and after high school, my dear friend. I have such wonderful memories of sitting at her dining table at the old house on Ridgeway with Julius Cain, Hugh Parker & Chris Evans, prepping for debate competition and as the only girl on the team, rooming with her on debate trips. Mike and Steven, remember the famous donut episode? Your sweet Daddy was a saint about that! I remain grateful to have known and loved her. She was an extraordinary lady. God's peace to all who love and will miss her.
