Natalie, Your mother was one of the most wonderful women in the world. She has been so much like a Mother to me all these years. From softball to church on Sunday, we all enjoyed being with you and your family. She taught us so much. I know you will miss her, but I know that she is now with Mr. Billy dancing and having a ball, teaching those darned Republicans in Heaven a thing or two. May God bless you in the coming months. Just know that we are all here for you, and if there is anything I can do to be of help, you only have to call.

Dear Nat,
You know how much I adored your mom. All I can think of is all the times we laughed and danced at 3 a.m. in the morning and she would be right there watching and laughing at us. She was truly a great mom, your house was the place we all wanted to be. Her and Billy knew just what we wanted and wanted to do. I have so many memories, way back to when Jeannie married James, tile when Joe was a teenager...Please know I am thinking of you and I wish I could be there. See you soon. Lisa McCrory McGehee

"Miss Eva" was a true Mississippi original, and will be sorely missed by her many friends and colleagues. I am profoundly saddened by the loss of this wonderful friend and kindred spirit. The Democratic Party had no stauncher supporter and defender than Eva, and no gathering of Mississippi Democrats will ever be quite the same without her. Somehow, I feel this good woman will always be present in spirit, and she had lots of that, helping organize the next phone bank or voter canvass. She was, and will forever be, the "(wo)man in the arena" Farewell, dear friend.
