Frances Dotson Obituary

Frances Simmons Dotson, 80, died Monday, February 19, 2007, at St. Dominic Jackson Memorial Hospital. Visitation is today from 5 - 7 p.m. at Natchez Trace Funeral Home in Madison and funeral services are 1 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with visitation 1 hour prior to services. Interment will be in Natchez Trace Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Dotson was born August 20, 1926 in Pontotoc, Mississippi and was the daughter of the late Otto Carey Simmons and the late Velma Wood Weatherall. She has been a resident of Jackson, MS since 1969 and was employed as a bookkeeper of the Orthopedic Department at UMMC, where she retired in 1990 after 10 years of service. Mrs. Dotson was a 2 term past President of WMU and she was a member of Colonial Heights Baptist Church. Mrs. Dotson is preceded in death by her husband Edsel Dotson.

Survivors include her daughters: Susan D. Anthony of Raymond, Shelley D. Hall of Jackson, and Lesley D. Regenhardt and her husband Mark of Cordova, Tenn., and two grandchildren: Airman 1st Class Callie Anthony and Matthew Simmons Dotson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Colonial Heights Baptist Church or Friends of Alcoholics.
