My earliest memory of the Washington family was at old Anderson UMC on Page Street - memories I cherish. Doc was a gentleman, a scholar, a father, a husband and a sage mentor to so many, all with an irascible sense of humor. His Biology class was packed and you didn't dare come late (you were target practice if you didn't have a good excuse!). I pray that God's peace moves through the entire Washington family at this time and in the days to come.Much love.

Dora, my friend, I am so sorry to hear of George's passing. He was a wonderful man and a great United Methodist. Know you and the family are in our prayers and I thank God for the life that George lived and all that he gave to the kingdom and to the United Methodist Church. It was my distinct pleasure to know him and you.
