I served in Yazoo County in the late 60's, as a student pastor. I will always remember his example of humility and concern for every pastor in the county. He made us all feel welcome to contact him at any time. I learned much from his ministry. He was truly a blessing. May God bless each of you.

There was always a "sweet, sweet spirit" present at First Baptist in Yazoo City during my few years living there in the 70s, and Brother Yates was such a huge part of that. I'm thankful and consider myself blessed to have crossed life paths with him. Joe Dier (Starkville, Miss.)
