Kathleen Johnson Obituary
Brandon, MS - Kathleen Elizabeth Philley Johnson, 47, passed away on Mon. Jan. 25, 2021 at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson, MS after a 58 day stay and battle with Covid. A graveside service will be held at 1:30pm on Fri. Jan. 29, 2021 at the Brandon Memorial Gardens in Brandon, MS. Due to COVID 19 friends are asked to please wear a mask. Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS is handling arrangements.
Better known as "Katie" by her family and friends she was born on Feb. 9, 1973 in McComb, MS. At an early age Katie moved with her family to Brandon, MS where she graduated from Brandon High School in 1993. She was a cheerleader for two years. Katie's profession was in the dental field. She was a dental assistant and office manager for 25 years working for several different dental clinics. Her most recent employer was the Dental Wellness Group, Dr. Sara Langston, in Brandon, MS which was one of her favorite clinics.
Survivors Include her husband of 23 years, Hymon "Trey" Johnson III; daughter, Gloria Suzanne "Glorianne" Johnson; father, Jay Philley Jr.; brother and sister in law, Jay Philley III (Stacey); nieces, Edie and Elle Philley; aunts and uncles, Kay Martin (Jacky), Marsha Collins (Butch), John Calvin Philley (Betty) and John Robert Perkins; mother in law, Suzanne Perdue Johnson; sister in law, Tisha Kuhn (Michael); nephews, Chase Dean Cole and Michael Gentry Cole and her cousins, Robbie Cooper, Renae Marsh, Sandy Nichols, Janet Walker, Julie Shelton, Brent Lassetter, Dave Philley, Leigh Taylor, Missy Clauson, Andrew Collins and Ryan Collins. Katie is preceded in death by her mother, Gloria Dale Hudson Philley; paternal grandparents, J.W. & Mary Philley; maternal grandparents, Emmitt "Junior" & Doris Steed and her aunts, Annette Perkins and Betty Lassetter.
