Robert Bethany Obituary

Robert Alton Bethany 85, died Wednesday, January 2, 2008, at Central Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson. Services are 2 pm Friday, January 4, 2008, in the chapel at Lakewood Funeral Home on Clinton Blvd. Visitation is today from 5-7 pm and after 1 pm on Friday. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park.
Mr. Bethany was a native of Neshoba County, MS. He was the only child of the late Robert Newt Bethany and Ola Waddell Bethany. He proudly served in WW II in the U.S. Coast Guard and currently was a member of the American Legion.
He was a longtime member of Midway Baptist Church in Jackson and was active until his health would no longer permit. He was retired from the City of Jackson after 25 years of service.
He is survived by his dedicated and loving wife of 60 years Minnie M. Bethany of Clinton and his daughter, Marilyn B. Sauls and her husband, Edward also of Clinton. His Grandchildren, Edward Berk Sauls of Atlanta, GA and Bethany Ann Sauls of Gainesville, GA; stepbrothers, Billy James and Whitman James; three brothers-in-law and four sisters-in-law and other extended family also survive him.
