Robert Monty Obituary
Hot Springs Village, AR
Robert Anthony Monty, 70, of Hot Springs Village, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on August 16, 2015. Mr. Monty was born September 22, 1944 in St. Louis, Missouri.
Mr. Monty served two terms as a Mississippi State Senator representing the 23rd district. He graduated from St. Joseph High School in Greenville, MS. Mr. Monty received his undergraduate degree from St. Bernard College in Cullman, Alabama. He further received his J.D. from the Mississippi School of Law in Jackson, MS. Former Sen. Monty was the first juvenile probation officer to serve in Washington County, MS. He also served as a probation/parole officer for the MS Department of Corrections. Additionally, Mr. Monty owned and operated a private probation office known as Court Network in Greenville, MS. Mr. Monty was a communicant of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Greenville, MS. He was an active participant of the Greenville Italian Club. Robert Monty was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus.
Sen. Monty was the son of Will and Josephine Monty. He has one sister, Dorothy Pellegrini of Modesto, CA. Mr. Monty is the father of three children, Tabatha Monty Tillman (Robert Lee), Robert Van Monty, and Natalie Christina Hodges (Mark). He also has a special nephew, Nolan Reed Turner of Jackson, MS; six grandchildren, Robert Mason Monty, Alexis Tillman, Robert Van Monty, Brittany Tillman, Will Hughes and Alan Hughes; one great-grandchild, Joselyn Robertson.
In lieu of flowers, Mr. Monty requested that donations be made to Dierkson Hospice 3648 N. Hwy 7, Hot Springs, AR 71909.

I was a very dear friend of Robert years ago and did some campaign work for him when he had run for a senator from Greenville,MS. I was proud to have been a friend of Robert Monty's all those years ago. I am so sad to hear of his death and I want to let his family know that they are in my thoughts and prayers too.
