Roger Spell Obituary
Funeral Services will be 11:00AM today at the Eupora First United Methodist Church, Rev. Trey Harper and Rev. Doyle Cummings officiating, with burial in the Webster Memorial Garden Cemetery in Webster County. Visitation was held 5:00PM until 8:00PM Tuesday, December 29, 2009, at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Boswell Spell, Eupora, MS; three daughters, Becky Spell Graubart, Germantown, TN, Shannon Spell Palmer, Cordova, TN and Bethany Spell, Jackson, MS; four sisters, Kay Kuhn, Louin, MS, Peggy Thornton, Hargenton,TX Cherry Russell, Winnsboro, LA, Tenia Hauck, Biloxi, MS; two brothers, Berlie Spell, Ellisville, MS, Jody Spell, Bryan, TX; and three grandchildren, Alan and Becca Graubert and Conner Palmer.
Roger worked as service manager for 35 years with Ms. Valley Gas Co., and was a member of the Eupora First United Methodist Church. Please make memorial gifts to the American Cancer Society Hope Lodge, 2008 Charlotte Ave., Nashville, TN or the First United Methodist Church in Eupora, MS.
Oliver Funeral Home of Eupora is in charge of all arrangements.

Ann, I am so sorry to hear about Roger. I met him many years ago when I first came to Webster County as a young Trooper with the Mississippi Highway Patrol. He and I spent many hours dealing with various gas leaks and other problems that affected local communities and traffic areas. We often met and talked at the area coffee shops and I always enjoyed hearing about the vacations you guys took. Roger’s personality endeared him to all who met him and he unquestionably had a positive influence on the community and the lives of others. I and everyone who associated with Roger can affirm with full honesty that we are all better people for having known him.

Iworked at Ms. Valley Gas in Kosciusko for a short time but came to know Mr. Spell there. I am so sorry for the entire family. Know you will all be in my thoughts and prayers.

Ann, I am sure sorry to hear of Roger's death. Please know that Dianne and I will always remember you and Roger as the "best next door neighbors ever" to my parents. They thought the world of you. I remember when Daddy died... Roger was sitting in their living room telling stories about the years that you all were neighbors. The best of times... Our thoughts and prayers are with you today and we wish that we could be there to be of some comfort during this time.

Dear Ms Ann & daughters,
I am so saddened to hear of Mr. Roger's passing. I am SO glad Mom and I got to see you all at that Ole Miss game we came to in Nov. Our prayers and thoughts are with you. I wish we could be there physically to let you know how much your friendship means to our family, but please know we are with you in spirit. At least you know he's in "good Rebel company" now. We love you, Ramona, Jean, Neil,Elizabeth and Sharon & family.
