Ruth Cormier Obituary
- - Mass of Christian Burial for Ruth M. Cormier will be celebrated at 1:00 pm on Friday, February 2, 2018 at St. Michael Catholic Church, 604 South 5th Street, Leesville, Louisiana.
The interment will immediately follow Mass at 2:00 pm at the VA Cemetery, 3348 University Parkway, Leesville, Louisiana.
Visitation hours will be observed at 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Labby Funeral Home, 601 South 4th Street, Leesville Louisiana. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm during the visitation.
She is survived by her three daughters: Melissa Strauss, Ed.S., of Clinton, Mississippi; Dr. Antionella "Shelley" (Cedric) Upshaw of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and Jannease (Ronald) Seastrunk, MS, VP of Community Relations, in Alexandria, Louisiana. The seven grandchildren of Ruth and Joe are Jalisa (Justin) Dyer of Brandon, Mississippi; Hillary Strauss of Jackson, Mississippi; Colin and Mia Upshaw of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; Sydney, McKenzie, and Rubin Seastrunk of Alexandria, Louisiana. God blessed her to celebrate the birth of one great grand-daughter and her namesake, Carrie Ruth Lewis.

Dan and I are so sorry for the loss of this most wonderful friend. Ruth was a very special lady we will always remember her beautiful smile. Ruth thanks for all you have contributed to the Veterans and the American Legion Auxiliary you will be greatly missed.There are no words of comfort that we can say to ease your pain so we will pray for God to heal your hearts.
