Tim Neely Burnham, 56, died from cancer on January 25, 2014, in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be Tuesday, January 28, 2014, from 11 AM to 1 PM with the funeral service at 1 PM at Ott and Lee Funeral Home chapel in Brandon, MS with burial in the Burnham Cemetery.
Tim was born on April 17, 1957 in Morton, MS, where he attended school through 11th grade. He graduated high school from East Rankin Academy in 1975, from Christ for the Nations in Dallas, TX, earned a B.A. in English from Southern California College in Costa Mesa, CA and did extensive post graduate work in English at Jackson State University in Jackson, MS. Tim enjoyed writing, playing blues guitar, building bird houses and Mississippi State sports.
Tim is survived by his parents, Jo Ann and Clarence Burnham of Jackson, MS; his brother the Rev. Dr. Jon Burnham, his wife Jana, daughter Jennifer and son Jackson of Houston, TX; brother Steven Burnham and his wife Susan and son Heed of Madison, MS, several uncles and aunts and many cousins. Jo Ann & Clarence, I've thought of you all several times lately and was shocked this AM to read of Tim's passing. We don't subscribe to C-L but from time to time I check the Obits online.
