Mrs. Vera Belle Vaughn, 87, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, July 13, 2016, at Villa South Assisted Living in Florence. Visitation will be Thursday, July 14th from 5-7 PM and Friday, July 15th from 9 AM until the 10 AM Funeral Service at Chancellor Funeral Home in Florence. Burial will follow at Mountain Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Vaughn was born January 17, 1929 in Oxford, MS to Joseph and Ella Wood. She lived in the Florence area since 1964 and was a member of Mountain Creek Baptist Church. She enjoyed history, gardening and flowers.
Mrs. Vaughn is preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Mr. John G. Vaughn; her son, Cullie Wright Vaughn; her parents and 4 brothers. She is survived by her children, Willie (Shirley) Vaughn of Philadelphia, Larry (Patsy) Vaughn of Braxton, Jerry (Patricia) Vaughn of Pearl, and Judy (Bob) Bullock of Florence; 12 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.
