Martha -- We are so sorry to hear of your brother's passing. He was much too youg to leave us. Please convey our deepest sympathy to your mother and father as well as to Bill's wife and sons. I recall the grief that my parents experienced at my brother's untimely death at the age of 66 years. Parents should not have to bury their children. It seems that Bill touched the lives of many. He was a good deciple of Jesus. The world is a better place because he lived.

The McLarty Clan has lost a great warrior. In the past 8 or 9 years I've been priviledged to spend a small amount of time with Bill working on a few projects. I and the rest of the HAM community will miss him dearly. His family is in our prayers.

I grew to appreciate Bill’s chosen walk as I worked with him daily. His involvement with young men, aiding in the development of their character, teaching and coaching so many people has left an indelible mark on this world. Ironically, one of his most recent passions was to teach "Leave No Trace" to his scouts. Bravo Zulu Bill!

I know Bill has not left us, he has just gone on ahead to clear the trail and set up camp.
Some day we will follow to find him standing at the camp gate, with a big wide grin, waiting for us.
The way will be well marked, the fire wood stacked, and the camp ready for his scouts.
Until that time he will be deeply missed by all.
A friend in scouting,
