JO ANN MCKINLEY BEAUCHAMP- first cousin-fathers side
July 31, 2025
my mother(his Aunt Thelma) and his father(my Uncle Bubba) were brother and sister - I'm his 95 yo cousin. i remember when Butch was born. i was 13-
i knew he was in tv production - so one day as i watched RIFLEMAN sign off the name GILBERT caught my eye.
so thinking it might be him - I inquired and much to my disappointment, he had passed away just 4 days before.

Herb was a quiet, grounding presence for all. Ever ready to join a conversation, he never pushed one to start. He was happy by himself, and happy to have company. In many ways like Elwood P. Dowd in the play Harvey. Herb was smart, but he was "oh, so pleaant". We miss you, Herb!

He was the most interesting man to have a conversation with. I loved his stories about his life when he was young and living in Nashville. I know he is in heaven right now "having a pipe". I´m going to miss him.

Herb will be so missed. He was kind, interesting, and faith filled. He was patient and calm in the midst of our loud family:) Most of all he loved my Aunt Jobe fiercely and was her perfect complement.

Herb was one of the most patient and kind people to walk this earth. I know he is now with his heavenly father. I hope you are enjoying a pipe and a nice Merlot. My love to all his family especially his sweet wife, my lovely sister, Jobe.

Butch will always be in my heart as a wonderful father, grandfather, and loving husband to my sweet mom. I'm thankful she did not back out of that first date! We love you and will see you in heaven someday.
