David Matney Obituary

David Matney age 60, of Clinton, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at Advocate Lutheran Hospital in Park Ridge, Illinois.

David Eugene Matney was born on April 11, 1965, to Jack Carl Matney and Beverly June Wallace.

David is survived by his devoted wife, Anna Jane Matney; his sons, Travis Eugene Matney, David Thomas Matney and wife Hannah Renae Matney, James Tylar Matney, Harley Ezra Matney, all of Clinton, MO; and daughters Tressa Mae Rosso and wife Candice Renne Rosso of Ozark, MO, Maggie Ann Matney, Crystal Gene Matney, Trinity Jolene Matney, Kreeanna Jane Matney of Clinton, MO.

He was a proud grandfather to 13 grandchildren, all of whom he adored.

David is also survived by his mother, Beverly June Wallace; his brothers, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Hugh Matney of Kearney, MO, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Benjamin Hall of Burleson, TX, and Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Bernard Hall of Camdenton, MO. He leaves behind several nieces and nephews, one aunt and uncle, and two cousins who will all remember him with love.

David's legacy is one of deep love, laughter, hard work, and unwavering dedication to his family. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

In his younger days, David attended Job Corps, where he took a step toward building a better future-and also where fate introduced him to the love of his life, Anna. Together, they built a beautiful family, raising nine children. David went on to graduate from Automotive Technical School and later worked in metal fabrication for Snider's Equipment in Wheatland, Missouri. A true outdoorsman at heart, he loved fishing, hunting, and being surrounded by nature. But more than anything, David cherished time with his family. Whether it was a picnic, a cookout, or a holiday celebration, he found the greatest joy in seeing his children's faces light up with fun and laughter. His warmth, hard work, and deep love for his family will always be remembered.
