Thomas Scott Warsaw - Warsaw - Coach Thomas "Tom" Scott, 45 of 787 Penny Branch Road, passed on Thursday morning, October 8, 2015 at Moses Cone Hospital, Greensboro, NC. The celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 3:00pm in the gymnasium of James Kenan High School, 1241 NC 24 & 50 Hwy, Warsaw, NC with Pastor Scott Kennedy officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Peterson Family Cemetery, Bull Tail Road, Wallace, NC. There will be a visitation held on Friday, October 16, 2015 from 5:30pm until 8:30pm at Calvary Baptist Church, 709 Memorial Drive, Warsaw, NC. He was born in Sampson County, NC to Lois Ann Maynor Scott. He was the grandson of Sam Maynor and Mary Peterson. Coach Scott is survived by his wife, Terri Lamb Scott of the home; daughters: Danielle Scott of Greenville, NC and Jessica Sutton (Reggie) of Clinton, NC; sons: Robbie Carlton of the home, Matthew Carlton of Bronx, NY and Timothy Faison of Durham, NC; grandchildren: Xavier, Jayden, Taylor and Reece; sister, Sharon L. Scott of Clinton, NC; brothers: Haywood Dilahunt of New Bern, NC, Todd Coates (LaDonna) of Fayetteville, NC, Chris LaPradd (Gretchen) of Archdale, NC, Ronald Maynor (Linda) of Fayetteville, NC and George C. Scott Jr.; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Wanda and Vivian Batts; special cousin-in-law, Jill Lamb Faircloth. His extended family that includes, an adopted son, Tristan, who resided in his home with him for a brief time and three "O-Line" daughters: Tiffany, Lumi and Asia and the entire James Kenan High School football team and James Kenan Community. He loved his football boys and there was nothing he wouldn't do to help them succeed. His love of football was known to all that knew him. He ate, slept and breathed football. Coach Scott was a 1988 graduate of Union High School, Clinton, NC. He attended ECU and was drafted in 1993 by the Cincinnati Bengals. He later played football overseas in the International Football League, before joining the "Tigers" of James Kenan High Football Staff. He was the Offensive Line, better known as the "O-Line" coach for the James Kenan "Tigers" for 12 years. Professional, sympathetic, dignified, compassionate care and service entrusted to J.B.
