Alexander Nicholas "Alex" Welch

Alexander Nicholas Welch, 31, passed away tragically on June 18, 2025. Born on August 16, 1993, he lived in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. Alexander's vibrant life ended much too soon in a rock-climbing accident, a sport he dearly loved, where he found joy, adventure, and freedom.
Alexander was the beloved son of Doug and Laurie Welch, who survive him, and an inspiration and guiding force in the life of his young son, Hudson. He cherished his role as a Dad and often shared with friends and family that becoming Hudson's Dad was his single greatest accomplishment in life.
Alongside his devoted parents and precious son Hudson, Alexander leaves behind a loving sister, Catherine (Matt), as well as grandparents, many aunts, uncles, and cousins and girlfriend Ashley Craven.
Alexander graduated from Highlands Ranch High School in 2012. He attended Florida College of Natural Health where he earned his Massage Therapeutic License in 2014. He then pursued higher education, graduating from Colorado Mesa University with a Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology, specializing in Health Promotion and Fitness in 2017. During college he also opened his own massage therapy business called Tranquil Mesa Massage.
Alexander earned the Eagle Scout rank, the highest honor attainable in the Boy Scouts of America program. His passions and interests were boundless. He reveled in attending live concerts along with camping, hiking, kayaking, and rock climbing. More than anything, he lived life to bring as much joy to Hudson as he could. He loved watching Hudson experience Cub Scouts, soccer, and every thrill ride at Elitch Gardens.
