COLUMBUS - Alice Rupp, 95, of Columbus, died Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010, at david place in David City.
The funeral service will be held Wednesday, at 10:30 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Revs. Patrick Sparling and Kurt Ebert officiating. Interment will be in the Roselawn Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be today from 4-7 p.m. at Gass Haney Funeral Home and on Wednesday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. at the church, with a family prayer service at 10:15 a.m.
Memorials are suggested to Immanuel Lutheran Church or School or the donor's choice.
Alice was born May 14, 1915, five miles north of Columbus, the daughter of John and Anna (Schulte) Blohm. She received her education at North Immanuel Lutheran School, District 12, Kramer High School, and Midland College. She was an elementary school teacher in Platte County, at Districts 46, 49, and 35, before her marriage to Rinehold Rupp on Aug. 3, 1937.
Alice was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and its Country Ladies Aid for many years, during which time she served offices of president, vice president, secretary and treasurer. She also taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School. In later years she was a volunteer teachers' aide at Immanuel Lutheran School. Alice enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, and helping her husband on the farm.
Alice is survived by her daughter, Joyce (R. Dennis) Kirby, of Silver Creek; son, LeRoy (Judy) Rupp, of Springfield, Mo.; granddaughter, Sheryl (Matt) Rinkol, of Lincoln; sister, Adelia Olson, of Norfolk; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, John and Anna Blohm; husband, Rinehold Rupp; infant daughter; infant sister; sisters, Elsie (Jake) Samland, Dorothy (John) Engler and Hilda (S.Y.) Robbins; and brothers, George (Eleanor) Blohm, Gerald (Dele) Blohm and Ralph (Kate) Blohm.
