SEWARD - Christopher Martens, 42, of Seward, died Sunday, Sept. 13, 2015, in Lincoln.
A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Columbus with the Rev. Patrick Sparling officiating. Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Cemetery in Columbus. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Wednesday at Gass Haney Funeral Home in Columbus and 9:30-10:30 a.m. Thursday with a 10:15 a.m. family prayer service at the church.
Christopher was born Dec. 23, 1972, in Columbus to Phillip and Bonnie (Behle) Martens. He attended school in Columbus and then began work in the construction business. He moved to Seward in 2004 where he continued to work construction in the area. Chris enjoyed riding and traveling on his motorcycle and also loved to go fishing.
Chris is survived by his mother, Bonnie Martens of Seward; aunts and uncles, Marlene (Delmar) Spitz of Columbus, Michelle Schlender of Lincoln, Dale (Vel) Schlender of Columbus, Janet (Roger) Bivens of Columbus, Jim (Sally) Martens of Columbus, Rick (Marie) Martens of Bee Branch, Arkansas, Joe Martens of Cave City, Arkansas, Lori (James) McIntosh of Silver Creek, Sheri (Robert) Taylor of Grand Island, Larry Martens of Batesville, Arkansas, and Ron (Robin) Martens of Hot Springs, Arkansas; and precious fiancée, Alisha Morris of Corpus Christi, Texas.
Chris was preceded in death by his father, Phillip Martens; and grandparents, Robert and Maxine Behle and Harold and Lucille Martens.
