GENOA - Dolores "Doodle" M. Collins, 75, of Genoa, died Tuesday, June 21, 2005, at Genoa Community Hospital.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at First Congregational Church in Genoa, with the Rev. Carl Edwards officiating. Burial is at Valley View Cemetery in Genoa. Visitation is from 4-7 p.m. Thursday at Patrick's Funeral Chapel in Genoa.
Mrs. Collins was born Sept. 8, 1929, in Genoa, to Norvin Arthur and Blanche (Carter) Olson. She graduated from St. Edward High School in 1947. She attended Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln and Western Union College in Vincent, Ind.
She married Lawrence Fred Collins Nov. 22, 1950, in St. Edward. They lived in rural St. Edward and moved to Genoa in 1991. They established Hilltop Christmas Tree Farm. She was also a homemaker and piano and accordion teacher. She was a SkeeDee News correspondent for several years.
She was a member of the church and Phi Mu Sorority.
Survivors include her husband; one daughter, Connie (Philip) Beyer of Genoa; one son-in-law, Robert (Kathy) Irish of Columbus; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Lynda Irish; and adopted son, James Collins.
Memorials may be directed to the Genoa Medical Foundation or First Congregational Church in Genoa.
