DAVID CITY - Fred Osborn, 87, of David City, died Sunday, December 16, 2012, at david place in David City.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, December 20, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at Kracl Funeral Chapel in David City. Committal will be in the David City Cemetery with military honors.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 4-7 p.m., continuing Thursday from 9-10:30 a.m. at Kracl Funeral Chapel.

Lunch will follow at the Knights of Columbus Hall.
Fred Osborn was born November 23, 1925, in Lamar, Colo., to Andy and Maud Elizabeth (Rife) Osborn. He attended school through the eighth grade. On December 22, 1943, he entered the United States Marine Corp and served until April 10, 1946, honorably discharged at the rank of Corporal.
On January 9, 1949, he married Julia Faye Smith at the Pleasant Heights Baptist Church in Lamar, Colo. Over 50 years ago they moved to Rising City where they owned and operated Community Builder for 22 years. Fred built many homes, churches and office buildings in his career. They moved to David City and upon retirement, he made cabinets for his children and grandchildren. He also built the building which is now Kracl Funeral Chapel. Fred was Protestant and belonged to the VFW.
He is survived by his wife, Julia Faye Osborn, of David City; three daughters, Beverly (Alan) Gissler, of Osceola, Marilyn (Dave) Nicolas, of Bellwood, and Nancy Osborn, of Omaha; four sons, Jim (Lynn) Osborn, of Minden, Doug (Jeanne) Osborn ,and Wendell (Jonell) Osborn, all of David City, and Wesley (Jean) Osborn of Olathe, Kan.; 19 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; a brother, William Osborn, of Lamar Colo.; and two sisters, Evelyn Tucker, of Columbus, and Paula (Ivan) Haddock, of Omaha.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters; one brother; and two sisters in infancy.
