Glenn McAfee Obituary

FULLERTON - Glenn D. McAfee, 81, of Fullerton, died Tuesday, June 22, 2004, at Beverly Healthcare in Fullerton.

Services are 11 a.m. Thursday at First Presbyterian Church in Fullerton, with the Rev. David Matheke officiating. Burial is at Fullerton Cemetery. Visitation is from 5-8 p.m. today at the church. Palmer Funeral Home in Fullerton is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. McAfee was born Oct. 21, 1922, in Nance County to Dale and Agnes (Rolf) McAfee. He grew up in the Belgrade/Fullerton area. He attended and graduated from Belgrade High School in 1941. He worked briefly for Union Pacific Railroad in Grand Island and then returned to farming.

He married Levonda Merle Murdoch June 6, 1956, in Nehawka. They farmed and raised livestock near Fullerton. In 1983, they moved to Fullerton.

He was a member of the church, where he served on various boards, Fullerton Senior Center Board, Eagles Club, National Railway Historical Society Great Plains Chapter, and past member of Tatters. He enjoyed baseball, football, trains, woodworking and collecting farm toys.

Survivors include one son, Paul (Tammy) McAfee of Salina, Kan.; three daughters, Lisa (Dave) Lassek of Fullerton, Rita (Harold) Wondercheck of Greeley and Karen (Lew) Sieber of Lincoln; two sisters, Pauline (Maylon) LeMasters of Riverside, Calif., and Louis (Elmer) Belitz of Fullerton; one brother-in-law, Leo Redler of Albion; 12 grandchildren and three stepgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Oct. 14, 1993; one brother, Marvin; and one sister, Eileen Redler.

Memorials are suggested to the First Presbyterian Church and Fullerton Senior Center.
