COLUMBUS - Jeanette Fisher, 76, of Columbus, died Monday, July 11, 2011, at her home in Columbus.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at McKown Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Ritter officiating. Interment will be in the Columbus Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. today and continuing 1-2 p.m. Thursday, all at McKown Funeral Home.
Jeanette was born on Oct. 12, 1934, in Rock Rapids, Iowa, to Fred and Elizabeth (Molenaar) DeYong. She grew up in Rock Rapids. She married Keith A. Fisher on Oct. 30, 1951, in Minnesota. In the mid 1950s, they moved to Columbus. Jeanette worked as a waitress at Stack 'n Steak, Park Avenue and the Downtowner restaurants in Columbus. Her hobbies included sewing, cooking, crafts and spending time with family. Jeanette was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her son, Jerry Fisher, of Columbus; son, Robert (Sharon) Fisher, of Columbus; son, William (Elaine) Fisher, of Columbus; daughter, Susan (Bill) Weekly, of Omaha; brother, Arend (Faith) DeYong, of Sioux Falls, S.D.; brother, Donald (Charlene) DeYong, of Rock Rapids, Iowa; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Keith A. Fisher; father, Fred DeYong; mother, Elizabeth (Molenaar) DeYong; and sister, Ann Jacobsen.
Memorials may be directed to the First United Methodist Church in Columbus and the Columbus Community Hospital Home Health and Hospice.
