Kenneth Dohmen Obituary

NORFOLK - Kenneth Dohmen, 54, of Norfolk, died Thursday, June 30, 2011, at Golden Livingcenter in Norfolk following a lengthy battle with cancer.

Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at McKown Funeral Home in Columbus with the Rev. Del Lape officiating.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at McKown Funeral Home in Columbus. Interment will be at Holy Family Catholic Cemetery, Lindsay.

Lunch will be served following the interment at Club 81 in Humphrey.

Kenneth R. Dohmen was born March 13, 1957, in Columbus to Ralph and Angeline (Jarecki) Dohmen. Grew up and attended schools in Lindsay. Moved to Columbus with his family after the death of his father. Ken worked for Gerholds and as an independent contract hauler for Moormans Feed. Ken later went to work for Schuster Trucking out of LeMars, Iowa. Due to illness, Ken moved back to Nebraska to be with his sons and family. Ken enjoyed boating, fishing, stock car racing, and most importantly, spending time with his sons and grandson.

He is survived by: Son, Chad Dohmen, of Clarkson; son, Nathan Dohmen, of Norfolk; grandson, Andre Kenneth Dohmen, of Omaha; sister, Marlene (Charles) Beiermann, of Columbus; sister, Joan (Dennis) Pfeifer, of David City; brother, Larry (Yvette) Dohmen, of Cedar Hill, Texas;  and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents.
