COLUMBUS - Magdolena "Babe" Krumland, 88, of Columbus, died Sunday, Jan. 1, 2012, at the Country Side Homes in Madison.
The funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Columbus with Rev. Timothy White officiating. Interment will be in the Roselawn Memorial Cemetery in Columbus.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at the Gass Haney Funeral Home and continue from 9:30 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church, with a family prayer service at 10:15 a.m., all at the church.
Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church or the Alzheimer's Association.
Magdolena "Babe" was born Aug. 29, 1923, on the family farm near Richland, to Ernest and Madeline (Schrieber) Heuer. She graduated from Kramer High School in Columbus and went to work for the Department of Defense at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.
Babe married Willis Krumland on Oct. 3, 1942, in Washington, D.C. During the time that Willis was serving in the United States Military, Babe moved back to Columbus to live with his folks.
Babe worked at Dale Electronics/Vishay in sales for 30 years. She was active in the American Legion Auxiliary where she had served as president, the Dale Alumni Group where she served as president, AARP serving as president, 8 & 40 serving as president, and the Eagles where she served as treasurer.
She enjoyed playing bridge, and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Survivors are daughter – Donna (Richard) Williams of Big River, Calif.; grandchildren – Deborah (Tim) Daniels and Deanna (Jim) Searls; son – Gary (DeEtte) Krumland of Columbus; grandchildren – Gary (Diana) Krumland, Traci (Steve) Barnes, Kari Krumland, and Mike Krumland; son – Tom (Linda) Krumland of Roswell, N.M.; grandchildren – Andréa (Michael) Moore, Tommy (Rachel) Krumland, Jr., and Peter Krumland; 16 great grandchildren.
Babe was preceded in death by her parents – Ernest and Magdeline Heuer
